C-Mac: Joe Schoen 'trying to convince himself' that Daniel Jones can still be answer

Joe Schoen continued to voice his belief in Daniel Jones as the starting quarterback of the Giants when speaking with reporters on Tuesday, and C-Mac is choosing to believe that Schoen doesn’t actually believe what he is saying.

“It’s gotten to the point now, when I hear it…it’s almost sounding like a man who is trying to convince himself,” C-Mac said. “The more he says it, the more I refuse to believe exactly what he’s saying, because you cannot have faith in a player like Daniel Jones who really, unfortunately, all you have to say is that he won a playoff game in Minnesota.”

C-Mac remains convinced that the Giants need to move on from Jones as the starter, given his long list of injuries, his lack of sustained success, and the fact that the new regime hasn’t been given the chance to develop their own quarterback yet.

“You can talk about tools all you want,” C-Mac said. “It hasn’t led to winning or offense his entire career…ultimately, the Giants are in a position where they have to take a chance on a quarterback prospect and allow Brian Daboll to do what he does best.”
