C-Mac was on the air after the Giants’ season-opening blowout loss to the Cowboys, and he did not hold back when assessing a 40-0 defeat where nothing seemed to go right.
“That was the most embarrassing display of football I have ever seen,” C-Mac said. “And that is not hyperbole. That was an absolute dismantling of a football team.
“Forty to nothing doesn’t even do it justice. It was worse than that. it was the most pathetic performance I have ever seen.”
Many players in the Giants locker room talked about turning the page and shaking off one bad loss, but C-Mac doesn’t see it that way. He says this loss is the continuation of dominance at the hands of a hated rival, and a failure to show that the organization had taken a step forward towards closing the gap.
“This was not just one game,” C-Mac said. “This is a season with expectations…this season was supposed to be different. and you know what wasn’t different? Losing to the Dallas Cowboys.
“When it’s time to step up and play the division rivals…the Giants don’t show up. That’s just plain and simple. Watching what happened last night, it’s a continuation. It’s not just one game. It’s a continuation of what the Giants do against the Cowboys in this division. What a pathetic performance.”
