The Giants are getting set to take on the Packers on Monday night, with many fans eagerly waiting to see if Tommy DeVito could lead Big Blue to a third straight win and keep the team’s faint playoff hopes alive.
C-Mac will not be watching from that lens.
“They can’t beat the Eagles, they’ve got them two more times,” C-Mac said. “The Rams are playing very good football. They’re looking like a playoff team, taking Baltimore to overtime.
“Why would I want to go out and beat Green Bay when I know the season is going to play out the way it’s going to play out, and I got a chance at a top pick? That’s what I want.”
C-Mac has maintained for weeks that the best course of action for the Giants is to lose the rest of the way to get a top draft pick to use on a quarterback, and beating the Packers would set them back in that area. So, while DeVito is a great story, C-Mac says losing is what’s best for the franchise in the long term.
