The Giants have a chance to move to 8-2 on the season when they welcome the 3-6 Lions to MetLife Stadium on Sunday, but Craig Carton says the Week 11 matchup has trap game written all over it.

So much so that he called it on Friday: Big Blue will be dealt a big disappointment at the hands of visiting Detroit.

“The New York Giants are gonna lose to the Detroit Lions,” Craig said to open Friday’s show.

“Before I get all the Giant hate, I have been the most positive, supportive guy about the New York Giants this year. I think it’s a trap game. The Giants are better than the Detroit Lions. The Giants are going to the playoffs, that is a locked guarantee now that the Packers are lout of it with their loss to Tennessee.”

Despite all of those good vibes, and the Giants arguably being the most pleasant surprise in the NFL this season, Craig says New York won’t be able to survive the Lions like they did the Texans.

“I’m having a tough time working on the numbers in my head that tells me the team that couldn’t blow out the Texans, couldn’t put them out of their misery, gave up a score every time they gave them a two-score lead…are now gonna win another game by a touchdown or less,” Craig said. “I respect the Giants and what Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll are doing…I think this is the definition of a trap after a win and ahead of the Cowboys on Thursday.”
