Evan & Tiki not convinced that Giants are reportedly 'absolutely done' with Daniel Jones

According to NFL Network’s Rich Eisen, the Giants are “absolutely done” with Daniel Jones, and have “buyer’s remorse” after signing the quarterback to a four-year deal before last season.

Even Tiki, who still believes in Jones, had to admit that it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if that report turned out to be true.

“I mean, it makes sense,” Tiki said. “The buyer’s remorse thing kind of does it for you. “Do I still believe in Daniel Jones? Yes, if he’s healthy. But again, it’s hard to predict health with a guy who has not been healthy.

“‘Absolutely done’? That’s like a definitive statement. That’s the only issue I have, the definitive statement of being absolutely done.”

Evan agreed that the “absolutely done” part of the report seems confusing given the fact that the Giants can’t get out of Jones’ contract until after the upcoming season, and it is highly unlikely they would be able to trade him due to that contract structure, and the fact that he is coming off ACL surgery.

“My first reaction is, ‘absolutely done’ doesn’t make sense,” Evan said. “Daniel Jones is likely gonna have an avenue to play this season...and if he plays, and plays well, are they absolutely done with him?”
