Tyrod Taylor did enough to get the Giants the win on Sunday, throwing for a pair of touchdowns in a 14-7 victory over the Commanders to, at least for now, keep Big Blue's season alive.
The two touchdowns through the air already matched the season total for starter Daniel Jones, who missed a second straight game with a neck injury suffered in a loss to the Dolphins earlier this month.
Taylor finished with 279 yards and completed 18 of 29 passes, and by the time it was over, several fans were making it clear on social media that they would like the veteran backup to remain the starter over Jones, should Jones be ready to go next week against the Jets.
Fans declared they had seen enough to want Taylor as the starter, cited Taylor's passing yard totals compared to Jones' since taking over, or even flat-out declared Taylor to be the better quarterback.
Asked by reporters about potentially continuing as the starter next week, Taylor said, "That's up to coach. Obviously if DJ's healthy, he's a captain of our team, leader on offense. I'm here to support in any way that I can."
