Saquon Barkley is an Eagle, and Sal can’t understand why Giants fans seem so crushed and betrayed that the lifelong Giant is now with a hated rival.
“I don’t understand why fans can’t understand this. It doesn’t matter where a player goes once he leaves,” Sal said. “Who cares that Barkley left for the Philadelphia Eagles? He’s not the Giants’ issue anymore. When he leaves, he leaves. OK, so he goes to a division rival. Big freaking deal.
“The Giants didn’t want him here. Giants fans should embrace that. It doesn’t matter that he left for the Eagles.”
Sal says what matters is that Barkley is gone, and it shouldn’t matter what team he, or any beloved player, goes to once they’re gone. The Eagles are a bitter rival, but so what? What matters is that Barkley is no longer a Giant.
“I never understood why fans care about where a player goes when he leaves your team,” Sal said. “Get over yourselves.”
