The Giants held back from trading up in round two to pick a center, and instead swung a deal later in the draft to take Jalin Hyatt with the 73rd overall pick, addressing another big need at wide receiver.

Big Blue was in desperate need of receiver production last season, and Hyatt says the Giants got one of the steals of the draft.

“I feel like I’m probably the best deep-threat receiver in the draft,” Hyatt said. “I really do believe that, and Giants they really got a playmaker, they got a dynamic playmaker, an explosive playmaker, and that's what I want to bring and add to the team.”

New York traded up from No. 89 to get Hyatt, and the 6-foot, 176-pound Tennessee product plans on showing Giants fans why it was the right decision, and that confidence will be seen on the field on Sundays.

“My confidence comes from my hard work,” Hyatt said. “It doesn't matter what pick, what round it was going to be. When I saw the Giants called me, I knew what I had to do and I knew what I'm capable of. I'm going to be learning from the players there, the receivers there, developing a bond with them, understand their style of football, getting plays down, understand the playbook, but at the same time, I'm there to show my opportunity and show why I should be here.”
