New York Giants pass rusher Lorenzo Carter suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in the first quarter of Sunday’s loss in Dallas, and will miss the remainder of the season.

Carter went down with what appeared to be a non-contact injury less than four minutes into the game, and was immediately ruled “out” with an ankle injury. Tests taken on Monday confirmed the Achilles tear, and the team announced he will undergo surgery in the near future.

The outside linebacker had 15 tackles (two for loss), one pass defensed, one sack, and four quarterback hits in five games this season.

Of course, Sunday’s game was marred even more by the fractured and dislocated ankle suffered by Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott, and after the game, Big Blue wideout Golden Tate III had Tweeted out well-wishes to both players.
