The New York Giants have waived cornerback DeAndre Baker, officially ending the troubled DB’s tenure with the team.

Baker has been on the Commissioner’s Exempt list since July 27, and has not participated in any Giants activities since an incident at a Miami-area house party on May 13 that led to Baker being charged with four counts of robbery with a firearm.

According to SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano, as Week 1 begins Thursday, the Giants would owe Baker $57,261 weekly if he remained on the roster while on the Commissioner’s Exempt list. The team does still owe him $3.3 million in guaranteed salary over the next three seasons, however.

Baker, the No. 30 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, started 15 of 16 games a rookie for Big Blue, and finished with 48 solo tackles, 61 total tackles, and eight passes defensed.

The team has already given out his jersey number as well, as cornerback Isaac Yiadom, who was acquired from Denver last week, was spotted wearing Baker’s No. 27 at practice on Monday.
