Darius Slayton is staying in East Rutherford.
Per multiple reports, Big Blue has re-signed Slayton to a two-year deal, with Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reporting it’s a $12 million base with a max value of $16.5 million.
Slayton, who was a fifth-round pick in 2019, restructured his deal to remain a Giant last year, and was inactive in Week 1 before becoming one of the Giants’ top receivers by the end of the year. He ended up playing 13 games last year and caught 46 balls for a team-high 724 yards and two touchdowns.
Over four years with Big Blue, Slayton has three seasons with 700 or more yards, and has 170 catches for 2,554 yards and 15 touchdowns in 59 games.
With Slayton back in the fold, the Giants’ receiver room is two-thirds holdovers, as Slayton, Sterling Shepard, and Isaiah Hodgins have all re-signed, and Wan’Dale Robinson will return from injury. That pair will join Parris Campbell, signed on Thursday, and a rumored signing in ex-Jet Jeff Smth in a receiver room where the latter two basically replace free agent Richie James and the released Kenny Golladay.
The Giants did also add Darren Waller in a deal with Las Vegas, so they have a true TE1 to pair with second-year man Daniel Bellinger, who broke out as a rookie last year.
