BT is confident his Jets will handle the Giants on Sunday, but if he was hoping for the best chance of victory, he would want to see Daniel Jones at quarterback over Tyrod Taylor.
“If you’re just going on optics, which team looks better?” BT said, when comparing the Giants offense with Taylor over the past two weeks to the offense with Jones in the first five weeks of the season.
“I’m trotting Tyrod Taylor out there against the Jets. I’d rather see Daniel Jones [as a Jets fan]. He’s more predictable. With Tyrod Taylor, they look more diversified…logically, Tyrod Taylor is not a piece of the Giants future at all. But if Tyrod Taylor plays well, the younger guys on the Giants who will be here for a while, like [Jalin] Hyatt, they really get to grow. Because Daniel Jones doesn’t throw the ball down the field like Tyrod Taylor.”
Sal agreed that the offense has looked better with Taylor, but if Jones is healthy, he isn’t hesitating in putting Taylor back on the bench.
“Tyrod Taylor has been the best quarterback for the Giants this year,” Sal said. “You cannot argue that. We’ve seen it…however, he is not the answer. You’re seeing what Tyrod Taylor’s ceiling is, and Daniel Jones can take the offense to another level.”
