Add another wide receiver and return man to the Giants’ offensive lineup: the team announced Friday that they have agreed to terms with Richie James Jr. on a one-year deal, pending a physical.
James, 26, was a seventh-round pick of the 49ers in 2018, and played 40 games for San Francisco between 2018-20 before missing all of 2021 with a knee injury.
The speedster, who left Middle Tennessee State as their all-time leader in receptions, yards, and touchdown catches, is more known for his return game in the NFL, as he has a 23.0 yard average on kickoff returns and 7.3 yard average on punt returns, including one touchdown.
James also does have 38 catches for 689 yards and three touchdowns as a receiver as well, and now joins a crowded group that has also added Robert Foster and re-upped C.J. Board behind top receivers Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, and Kadarius Toney.
