Gio is getting more and more fed up by the day with Kayvon Thibodeaux, and while the former top-five draft pick has shown improvements in recent games, it hasn’t been enough for Gio to forget what Thibodeaux has shown in totality since being drafted by the Giants.
“Thibodeaux was a guy who had a big personality,” Gio said. “I defended him for that big personality when he first came into league. But he has not been able to back any of it up. You used to say stuff about Cam Newton and the way that he used to dress after games, after losses, he'd have these scarves and these hats, he'd look ridiculous.
“Kayvon Thibodeaux, it's sort of the same thing. He shows up in like pink overalls and carries his Louis Vuitton man bag, his murses, and he goes out there and plays like a stiff. It's pathetic.”
Gio believes Thibodeaux carries himself to be something he is not, and needs to show a lot more on the field to match his persona away from the gridiron.
“He's got the cart before the horse more than any New York athlete I've seen in a long time,” Gio said. “This guy thinks he's influential, he thinks he's some sort of influencer. He's not. He is a mediocre football player up to this point who thinks he's a superstar.”
