The Giants and Jets will not play football next week, and won’t play a game with meaning for another nine months.
That is just fine with Gio, who couldn’t help but let out a deep sigh of relief when the season finally came to an end in New York on Sunday evening.
“I actually feel a sense of relief about this. I’m not kidding,” Gio said. “It became a chore. It became homework to have to pay attention to those games the last few weeks.”
Many might agree with Gio, as the New York teams entered the season with more collective excitement than any season in recent memory, but it resulted in both teams losing double-digit games, Aaron Rodgers lasting four plays, and both teams seemingly being dead just weeks into the season.
Now, the city gets a collective football break after mainly disappointment in 2023.
