The Giants will jump right into the fire to begin the 2023 season when they take on the rival Cowboys Week 1 in primetime on Sunday night.
Dallas has dominated New York in recent years, and are favorites again despite being on the road, but Gio believes the two teams are equally matched this season.
“When I’m breaking down the NFC East, the Cowboys and Giants to me, it’s like splitting hairs,” Gio said.
“I do not think the Cowboys have a huge edge on the Giants, or should be favored in the way they are in this game on Sunday night. I may be made out to be a fool, the Cowboys beat the Giants every time, Micah Parsons might go crazy, who knows.”
That’s not how Gio sees things unfolding on Sunday, and believes it will be a back-and-forth battle between two times that will be fighting each other in the standings all year.
“To me, it’s the Eagles far and away as the best team in the division,” Gio said. “And then it’s a coin flip between the Cowboys and Giants for second in the NFC East.”
