Drew Lock is the newest member of the Giants quarterback room, and Keith believes the former Seahawk could get the ball in Week 1 for Big Blue.
That belief comes from the prediction that Daniel Jones won’t be ready to go as he continues to recover from ACL surgery.
“Drew Lock might just be a stopgap in between Daniel Jones rehabbing…and they’re gonna give the ball to whoever it is they draft,” Keith said. “You can’t sell me that Daniel Jones will be healthy and ready to go by Aug. 1. My math says he’s not really gonna be healthy and ready until late September, early October.”
Perhaps the Giants take a quarterback at sixth overall, and the rookie starts Week 1. Or it could be Lock. But at this point, despite Joe Schoen’s encouraging updates, Keith doesn’t think it will be Jones.
