Tommy Lugauer was still steaming mad about the Giants loss to the Jets when he opened his bridge show on Tuesday evening.
In an epic rant, Loogy went off on Brian Daboll’s coaching style on Sunday, and for much of this season, after declaring the season dead thanks to Daboll’s lack of urgency.
“The season was on the line Sunday, and Brian Daboll, who has coached like a wimp the last three weeks, did not coach to win the game,” Loogy said. “They didn’t even try in overtime. They didn’t go for it on 4th-and-short.
They did not try to win. They lost the game. The season is lost.
“The coach has been gutless for weeks! Gutless! Did not even try in overtime. Loser mentality, kicking field goals…when [Graham] Gano has been dealing with some type of injury. Instead of going for it and showing some guts, with Saquon Barkley back.”
Evan has opined for weeks that Daboll is developing a reputation as “kind of cowardly” after being seen as one of the more daring and aggressive coaches in the league last season, and Loogy is taking it a step further, declaring that Daboll is coaching straight-up scared, and offers little reason to believe that the Giants will turn things around this season.
“How can I put any faith on the line when the head coach is not playing to win?” Loogy said. “I’m still steaming from that crap on Sunday.”
