After he caught a touchdown pass late in the Giants’ Week 18 loss in Philadelphia, Kenny Golladay showed how he has continued to grind all season despite this being the toughest of his career – and head coach Brian Daboll said “we’ll see” when asked if KG might have a postseason role.

Well, on Sunday, none of Daniel Jones’ 33 pass attempts targeted Golladay, but he still had one of the most important plays of the game: a pancake block on Minnesota’s Duke Shelley in the fourth quarter that sprung Saquon Barkley for 10 yards on a swing pass:

That play gave the Giants a first down at the Minnesota 16 with 10 minutes to go, and the Giants ended up scoring the game-winning touchdown five plays later.

So no, Golladay didn’t even have a chance to make a catch, but his hands came up big in a big spot.

“Man, I saw him on the sideline later, and said, ‘You couldn’t get the safety after that, too?” Barkley joked after the win. “But you have to give it up to KG, man; the way the season’s been going hasn’t been easy, but I respect the grit and the grind. He showed what he can do, playing that whole game in Philly, and give it up to him for a big play tonight.”

Golladay had just eight catches for 81 yards in the regular season, but clearly, he’s earned some PT in the postseason, and likely earned some more with that moment of being a great teammate.

“Did you see that block?” head coach Brian Daboll said in his post-game press conference. “It's all about our team; it's not an individual sport, but individuals have to play well, and when they get their opportunity, make the most of it. He's a competitor who has kept his head down and worked as hard as he can, and tried to do the best job he can when his number is called."
