Former Giants linebacker Lorenzo Carter is primed to sign with the Atlanta Falcons, and he took to Instagram on Sunday night to say goodbye to Big Blue Nation.

"It’s hard for me to even put in words how blessed I am to have been a part of the New York Football Giants family these past four years," Carter wrote. “Thanks to everyone that’s invested in me as not just an athlete, but as a person as well.”

Carter, 26, was the Giants’ third-round pick in 2018, and registered 153 tackles (59 for loss), 14.5 sacks in 49 games. He had a breakout year in 2021 with 50 tackles, five sacks – all in his final four games – and two forced fumbles, as well as his only career interception.

Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Carter is reportedly set to sign a one-year deal with the Falcons, who just dealt Matt Ryan to Indianapolis on Monday.
