McMonigle has hit his max level of embarrassment when it comes to Giants season
The Giants once again saw a plane flying over MetLife Stadium before Sunday’s game, this time towing a banner urging owner John Mara to “fire everyone,” shortly before New York was pulverized by Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
The blowout loss dropped Big Blue to 0-8 at home this year, but Chris McMonigle doesn’t believe the Giants season can drop any lower than where it was when the season effectively ended about a month ago, so he doesn’t buy the idea that planes or lopsided losses add further embarrassment to another lost campaign.
“I don’t know what anybody expected against the Ravens in this game,” C-Mac said. “Defensively, they have nobody. They’re decimated by injuries. Their quarterback play is hideous. Their offensive line play since Andrew Thomas went down is hideous.
“This team is just awful. I don’t get more embarrassed. I’ve hit my level.”
However, even if further embarrassment isn’t setting in, there is another emotion C-Mac experiences when watching these Giants, one that ownership should perhaps be more concerned about than the planes flying overhead.
“I understand, in their 100th, season, that they’re about to be the first team in NFL history to lose nine home games. That’s embarrassing,” C-Mac said. “But I don’t get more embarrassed once the season is dead. I become indifferent. And that might be worse. “I don’t care. I laugh at the embarrassment. I laugh at the plan going above [MetLife Stadium].
“Do you think planes make it worse? Do you think bags over people’s heads make it worse? They’re gonna win two games this year. This is the third year of this regime, and it’s gotten worse and worse. Everyone in the NFL knows how inept they are. Every fan knows how inept they are.”
