The Giants have a lot of work to do to turn their season around, but Tiki says it will take some simple tweaks to eliminate mistakes, mask deficiencies, and make Big Blue a competitive team again.
“It feels like things are complicated,” Tiki said. “They’re complicated for the offensive line, because they sometimes look confused…I feel like the Giants offensive line is thinking too much, and the way to get them to stop thinking is to just run it downhill.
“The only way to do that is get a fullback, get your quarterback under center, and make it simple. The Giants play a lot of spread football…but when you do that, you expose your edges. I’m not saying do it all the time, but it needs to be a part of their offense.”
On the other side of the ball, the same applies. Keep it simple.
“Defensively, I know Wink [Martindale] likes to blitz a lot,” Tiki said. “It’s what made him exciting, and it’s great if guys execute and know what they’re doing behind the blitzing. The problem is, you see a lot of confusion in the secondary. Keep it simple.”
