Aaron Rodgers watched from a box above the field as the Jets nearly pulled out a shocking win over the Chiefs on Sunday night, his first time back to the stadium since tearing his Achilles in the team’s season opener on Sept. 11.
Rodgers has arrived to surprise the team before the game, watched warmups on crutches at field level, and then witnessed Zach Wilson turn in the best game of his career.
He also told NBC’s Melissa Stark that he plans on being around a lot more in a few weeks.
“His plan is to rejoin the team permanently after their Week 7 bye,” Stark reported during the Sunday Night Football broadcast.
Rodgers also confirmed what he hinted on the Pat McAfee Show shortly after his surgery. The future Hall of Famer doesn’t want that Sept. 11 season opener to be his final game action of his debut season with the Jets.
“He told me his goal is to play again this season,” Stark said.
