Bills kicker Tyler Bass sets one team field goal record, ties another in 18-10 win over Jets

Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass went 6-for-8 on field goal attempts in the Bills’ 18-10 win over the Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, setting one team record and tying another.

Bass’ eight attempts eclipsed the previous record of seven, and his six makes tied that mark – both of which were owned by Steve Christie, and both of which were set against the Jets, when Christie went 6-for-7 in a 25-22 Bills win at Giants Stadium on October 20, 1996.

The eight attempts also tie Bass for the second-most in NFL history – Jim Bakken set the record with nine back in 1967, while six others have eight, most recently Miami’s Jason Sanders in a game last December against the Jets – and the six makes are tied for third-most in NFL history (Rob Bironas’ eight is the record).
