Gio, despite his criticisms of the Jets’ coaching staff and Robert Saleh, believes the regime will probably be back next season and given a chance to run it back with a hopefully healthy Aaron Rodgers this time around.
Boomer isn’t so sure.
“Don't be surprised if they don't bring all these people back. Don’t be surprised,” Boomer said. “We talked about this when the Giants were 2-8. What was it going to look like? I’ll tell you what, it hasn’t looked nearly as bad as the Jets have looked. Brian Daboll has actually won games with an undrafted rookie free agent quarterback…the Jet offense has no life to it.
just putting a healthy Aaron Rodgers in front of those guys yesterday, I don’t know if that’s gonna make that much of a difference.”
Boomer wonders if things are getting so bad for the Jets that the need to make a change outweighs the pass the coaching staff has gotten for not having good quarterback play all season. If the losses continue the rest of the way, with the Jets not looking prepared, Boomer wouldn’t be surprised if Woody Johnson decides he has seen enough.
“There’s nothing etched in stone that says it’s gonna stay the way it is. I’m telling you,” Boomer said. “You have an owner who I’m sure is getting very, very tired of losing.”
