Robert Saleh declared that his defense had “embarrassed” the “gauntlet” of quarterbacks it had faced this season, including Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Jalen Hurts.
Two days later, Saleh backtracked those comments a bit, telling reporters “embarrassed” was the wrong word to use.
That set off BT and Sal.
“This bothers me. Why are we backtracking?” BT said. “Come on…own it, man! That’s weak.”
Sal was just as aggravated at Saleh for not doubling down on his public praise of his defense, which picked off Hurts three times on Sunday to lead the Jets to an improbable win over the Eagles.
“Just give Aaron Rodgers the headset and call it a day,” Sal said. “It’s the one thing I liked about him! I was just giving him credit! There was merit to what Saleh said. His defense made great quarterbacks look pedestrian. Stand by it!”
