BT & Sal react to Aaron Rodgers aiming to play beyond 2024: 'Everything is gonna be the same'

Aaron Rodgers told the Pat McAfee Show that he intends to play for the Jets beyond next season, noting that this year has been a “lost” year after playing just four snaps before tearing his Achilles.

Many Jet fans reacted with excitement that the future Hall of Famer remains committed to Gang Green beyond 2024, but BT didn’t find himself celebrating.

“Aaron Rodgers telling us he wants to play 2-3 more years, it sounds good, but it’s also incredibly hollow when he got hurt four snaps into the season,” BT said. “He said he’s learned to push his body and extract as much of his body as humanly possible. Well, the evidence is not there because he got hurt before the first quarter was over.”

For Sal, Rodgers comments cements the fact that the current regime is here to stay, for better or worse, and they won’t be taking a quarterback in the first round of the upcoming draft.

“This is what the Jets are gonna be the next two years,” Sal said. “He’s not going anywhere, the owner isn’t gonna make him go anywhere. The head coach and the GM are gonna be here…this is it.

“This is the Aaron Rodgers Show…nobody is gonna get fired, everything is gonna be the same, they will trade for Davante Adams, and they will try to go win a Super Bowl in the next two years. That’s what’s gonna happen.”
