Even after reading the scathing report by The Athletic about the dysfunction within the Jets organization this season, C-Mac says the team is making the right move by sticking with Robert Saleh as the head coach.
If only because it seems like the only way out of this mess right now.
“You might want to fire him and bring in a better head coach. Good luck,” C-Mac said. “Unless it’s [Mike] Vrabel, good luck.
“The best path for the Jets is still the same path after this article. I’m sorry. There’s one way.”
C-Mac says it could be argued that trading for Rodgers in the first place wasn’t the best move, but now that it was made, they have to see things through with the future Hall of Fame quarterback, and with Rodgers endorsing Saleh, the only move is to push through and hope for a healthy, and more successful, 2024 campaign.
“They could have done a million different things,” C-Mac said. “They went out and traded for Aaron Rodgers…whoever decided to give Aaron Rodgers control of everything, when you give that control, and he goes down four plays in, your season is screwed.
“I also see a head coach that’s never been given an opportunity to have a functioning offense because he’s had a miserable quarterback, and this team is too far down the Aaron Rodgers rabbit hole, that there’s no other way than to see it through.”
