Robert Saleh met with reporters on Wednesday to announce Zach Wilson as the starting quarterback once again, and C-Mac can’t believe the head coach is back to defending the former No. 2 overall pick.
“Here we go again with the Zach Wilson defending,” C-Mac. “I hope this kid really does appreciate it…yet again today, he’s asked again about why they benched him in the first place, and his answer was ‘I always knew Zach was our best chance to win.’
“That is an asinine statement.”
C-Mac says Saleh is either blindly defending Wilson or misspeaking when he says that he has always believed Wilson gave the Jets the best chance to win. Either way, Saleh did not come across well in C-Mac’s eyes on Wednesday.
“It’s more nonsense that he’s not even sure what the hell he’s saying, so he can defend Zach Wilson,” C-Mac said. “It’s unbelievable how they defend this kid…man, do they bend over backwards for this kid.”
