Robert Saleh told reporters on Wednesday that, despite “conspiracy theories” suggesting that he is being directed to start Zach Wilson, the Jets are “on the same page” when it comes to their thoughts on the former No. 2 overall pick.
Given Saleh’s comments just a day prior, C-Mac isn’t buying the head coach’s response for a second.
“I do not believe coach Saleh, when yet again pressed on why he continues to play Zach Wilson…his response is, ‘we’re all on the same page,’” C-Mac said. “It is not a conspiracy theory when you say ‘I plead the fifth.’ We are not reading into that too much.
“I don’t buy it…I’m sorry, I tend to believe the first statement. I do not believe they’re all on the same page. I believe more from Tuesday, when you didn’t know what to say.”
Despite Saleh’s comments, C-Mac believes there is a rift within the organization when it comes to Wilson, and it will tear this regime apart if the status quo continues.
“It will crumble this team,” C-Mac said. “It has gone beyond the idea of ‘Zach Wilson is the guy.’ This is now not only with the players, but with other members of the organization ripping things apart.”
