In the wake of Mecole Hardman’s explosive comments against the Jets culture on The Pivot Podcast, Evan went off on the former Gang Green wideout for thinking he is way better than he actually is.

“You’re gonna make me defend Robert Saleh…Robert Saleh’s impact on winning in Kansas City was probably less than Robert Saleh’s impact on winning in San Francisco,” Evan said. “Robert Saleh ran a defense. You were made to look special because you play with Patrick Mahomes.

“Everybody wants to come out and take their shots at the Jets…with their own personal agenda…I’m getting sick and tired of outsiders getting their pound of flesh. You have an agenda, bro. you came here thinking you were a superstar. You were one of the many Bulls players that got recycled around the NBA. You weren’t winning championships. Michael Jordan was winning championships…you come to my team like you know about winning? What the hell do you know about winning?”

Evan also pointed to Hardman’s comments on the podcast in which he told a story about being asked to return punts as the starter by the special teams coordinator right before a game, to which Hardman declined. Evan said it immediately takes away from the rest of his comments about knowing how to win and team culture.

“The guy who is bashing the Jets about ‘their losers, they don’t know how to win,’ he’s the guy who pulled a Zach Wilson before Zach Wilson pulled a Zach Wilson,” Evan said.

Simply put, Evan is sick of former players taking their turns ripping the Jets, regardless of how disappointing last season was.

“Everyone likes to take their shots at the Jets,” Evan said. “This is not a defense of the Jets. This is more, ‘Dude, enough.’”
