Evan was furious with his Jets after losing to the Raiders on Sunday, and the bulk of his frustration was geared towards the head coach, who he is sick of watching show little emotion on the sidelines while his players commit one costly penalty after another.
“We’re all insane,” Evan said “Insanity is repeating the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results. I think we all sat there expecting a different result, and yet the Jets lost the exact same way they have lost 11 of their last 15 games under this brilliant head coach.
“They are an undisciplined mess who can’t score a touchdown.”
The Jets were killed by penalties in Sunday’s loss, and Evan says the team is getting killed by a lack of public accountability from Saleh, who is known to be a player’s coach. Joe Benigno has said he is concerned Saleh is too friendly, and his former co-host seems to agree.
“The country club this head coach runs is part of the problem,” Evan said. “I want Robert Saleh to be Brian Daboll. I want him to scream at C.J.
Uzomah and grab him by the mask…we don’t get any of that when the Jets commit mindless penalty after mindless penalty. The counsellor at the camp, Robert Saleh, says ‘We’ll get ‘em next time.’
“Pat ‘em on the ass and say ‘Everything is OK.’ How about you bench somebody? How about you scream at somebody? How about you do something other than allowing the same thing to happen every bleeping week.”
