Evan sick of Jets lack of accountability, Robert Saleh testing 'Law of Rodgers'

Evan listed a number of potential narratives from Sunday’s Jets loss as the potential biggest annoyance on “another miserable Monday,” but Evan had one in mind that set him off more than any others.

It wasn’t the putrid offensive line play or losing in blowout fashion to the hated Dolphins. It was the lack of accountability after the game, which he says is evidence of the coaching staff continuing to test the patience of ownership in what has been another lost season.

“They’re testing the Law of Rodgers,” Evan said. “If Aaron Rodgers didn’t exist, this would not be a sports talk radio debate. They’d all be gone. Period. This would not be a hot take or a controversial opinion. They’d all be done, and we’d all accept it.

“It’s not just Robert. It’s his entire staff, and Joe Douglas too, they’re testing the Law of Rodgers. They’re testing the law of Woody Johnson saying ‘Hey, everything that went wrong is the fault of an injury.’”

Evan says the Jets seem to carry around the mindset that this season is a wash because Rodgers got hurt four snaps into his Gang Green tenure, when in reality, there are several other problems with this team, and if they continue to lose and show a lack of accountability, the looming return of Rodgers next season still might not save Saleh and other members of the organization.

“They don’t just simply stink because of an injury to Aaron Rodgers,” Evan said. “That’s a lie you tell yourself to make yourself feel better…right now in the NFL, there are bad offensive lines, and they don’t embarrass themselves weekly. Right now in the NFL, there are four backup quarterbacks in playoff spots right now, and three of them are in the AFC. I’m done with the excuses.

“I wonder, is this owner and is this quarterback - who was on the sidelines yesterday - gonna watch enough of this masterclass in dogs--t to put their foot down and say ‘No, we can’t run it back and just make excuses for why this team was terrible this season.’”
