The full NFL schedule will be released Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, but the schedule for Week 1 was announced already, so we know that the Jets will get their crack at Sam Darnold and the Panthers on opening week.
While most of the rest of the games will be kept under wraps until the schedule release airs, the NFL went ahead and announced their two games in London - and the first, in Week 5, is Gang Green "visiting" the Falcons.
Yes, the Falcons will be "hosting" the New York Jets at Tottenham Stadium on October 10, denying Gang Green their first-ever visit to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the ATL. Instead, the Jets will look to go 2-0 lifetime in London, following their 27-14 win over Miami in Week 4 of 2015. Atlanta, meanwhile, is 0-1 in the U.K., having lost 22-21 to Detroit in 2014.
This will be the Jets' fifth game ever outside the U.S.; in addition to that previous London game, they have played two international preseason games - an 11-7 win over the Browns at Montreal's Olympic Stadium in 1988, and a 30-14 loss to the Buccaneers at the Tokyo Dome in 2003 in the Japan Bowl - and defeated the Bills 19-17 in a regular-season game in Toronto in 2009.
The announcement also means the Jets will have a Week 6 bye following the game. The remaining 15 slots on their schedule will be released Wednesday night.
London will also get back-to-back games featuring the top two picks in the 2021 Draft, as the week after Jets-Falcons, No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence will lead the Jaguars into the U.K. for a home game against their in-state rival Dolphins - the NFL-record eighth England game for the Jags and the fifth for Miami.
