Robert Saleh is hosting a familiar face in New York on Tuesday.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Saleh’s Jets are welcoming free-agent linebacker Kwon Alexander for a visit, which could lead to a potential reunion for the two. Alexander played for Saleh when he was the defensive coordinator for the 49ers.
Alexander, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL Draft. Last season, he played 12 games and made eight starts, logging 3.5 sacks, an interception, and 39 solo tackles. Over his seven-year career he holds 12.0 sacks, eight interceptions, 371 solo tackles and 43 tackles for a loss. He was a Pro Bowler in 2017 with Tampa Bay.
Alexander does come with injury troubles, as he suffered a torn ACL in 2018, a torn pectoral in 2019, an ACL tear in 2020, and an elbow injury last season sidelined him for five weeks.
