Aaron Rodgers is once again front and center for off-the-field reasons, as the New York Times reported that the future Hall of Famer has had talks with Robert Kennedy Jr. about joining his ticket for a presidential campaign.
Gio isnt’ buying it as real, and says there is an explanation for why the story would be leaked.
“I think this is pretty obvious what is going on, and first off, he is not going to be his vice president. One, because he can't win, and two, I don't think he's gonna campaign with Robert F. Kennedy Jr,” Gio said. “I think this is about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Aaron Rodgers wanting to get Robert Kennedy’s message out there more than it has been.
“‘What if I throw it out there that you’re gonna be my VP? People are gonna look into me more, see what I’m about, and that’s the best way to get attention to my campaign.’”
If the objective was to get more eyes on Kennedy before a presidential push, then Gio says the mission has already been accomplished, though he doesn’t believe it will result in an election victory.
“Is it gonna work? Probably not,” Gio said. “But today, Robert Kennedy Jr. has gotten more attention than he ever has, because everyone wants to talk about Aaron Rodgers.”
