Boomer revealed the one factor that holds him back from believing the Jets can reach the Super Bowl in Aaron Rodgers’ first season with the team, so it was time for Gio to reveal his.
“The thing that holds me back from thinking they can win the Super Bowl is the cheesiness of the head coach,” Gio said. “Robert Saleh has to be the cheesiest speech giver ever. It gets worse and worse every single week.
“He finds these things on TikTok and Instagram, he sits there and reads them to the team and jams some curse words around it, and it’s supposed to be this inspirational speech.”
Saleh has given speeches involving eagles and crows, and was seen making another on the final episode of Hard Knocks, and it didn’t inspire much confidence in Gio, who finds it hard to believe that the Jets get fired up and rally around their head coach after some of his monologues that are caught on film.
“He does this Mount Everest thing. Can you come up with a more basic analogy than climbing Mount Everest?” Gio said.
“He’s gotta be the least inspiring guy in sports.”
