Sauce Gardner stood up for Zach Wilson over the weekend after it was reported that the Jets quarterback wasn’t getting any trade interest, to the point where Gang Green might have to attach draft compensation to his name.
Gardner called Wilson a “baller,” but Gio wasn’t buying the praise.
“I think he’s trying to boost the value,” Gio said. “He’s been talking about being the general manager this whole offseason, and this is what GMs do.”
Gardner was posting about moves he would make if he were running the Jets this offseason, and Gio believes the star cornerback still had his GM hat on when talking about Wilson.
“He couldn’t possibly, the caliber of player that Sauce Gardner is, think Zach Wilson is any good,” Gio said. “This is cap from ‘LeSauce.’”
