Late last week the Indianapolis Colts traded with the Philadelphia Eagles for starting quarterback Carson Wentz.
While the trade itself went down without a hitch, now that Wentz is a member of the Colts, he's already hit a slight speed bump, his jersey number.
Hugh Douglas, former NFL defensive end and Morning Show host on 92-9 the Game in Atlanta thinks that in the end, Wentz will get the jersey number he wants.
While sharing some thoughts on that topic, Douglas told a story about his jersey number and how it nearly kept him from becoming the Eagles legend he eventually became.
"With the Jets I wore 99, but I wanted 53. I changed my designation from defensive end to linebacker," explains Hugh Douglas. "When I found out I was going to the Eagles, the trade was imminent, I told them I'm not coming unless you give me 53. They took the number from N.D. Kalu, just took it from him."
Hugh Douglas ended his career in Philly with 54.5 sacks and six forced fumbles in 82 games with the Eagles.
