Garrett Wilson’s stardom grew on Monday night thanks to an incredible game-tying catch in the end zone, where a juggling act ended with Wilson securing the ball with his back on the turf.
With the Jets on the 3-yard line in the fourth quarter, Zach Wilson threw a quick pass to Garrett on the outside, and the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year reached across his body with his right hand to tip the ball in the air and away from the defender, then tipped it a couple more times as he fell to the turf, eventually securing the ball as he hit the turf, tying the game.
NFL social media was in awe of the grab, as Wilson seemed to take his budding stardom to another level, helping his backup quarterback on a throw that could have been disastrous.
The Jets will need Wilson to be a star moving forward now that Aaron Rodgers will likely miss the rest of the season.
