While the New York Jets remain engaged in negotiations with the Green Bay Packers, do not expect them to change course and pursue Lamar Jackson.
New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas told reporters on Monday that the focus will continue to be on securing a deal for Aaron Rodgers and that Jackson not currently an option.

“Lamar Jackson is a fantastic player, but it would be disingenuous and operating and negotiating in bad faith if we went down that path,” Douglas said. “Right now, we have our plan, we have our process and we’re sticking to that.”
That plan, of course, is negotiating a deal with the Packers for the 39-year-old Rodgers.
While Rodgers has already declared his intention to play with the Jets next season, the Packers still own his rights and a deal has not been reached after nearly two weeks since Rodgers publicly revealed his desire to play in New York.
“There’s been some productive conversations, but obviously we’re not where we need to be yet,” Douglas said. “But I feel like we’re in a good place.”
Earlier on Monday, Jets head coach Robert Saleh had said there’s “no urgency” to get Rodgers in the building as he already knows the offensive system run by Nathaniel Hackett — Rodgers’ former quarterback coach in Green Bay.
