Jets' Mekhi Becton carted off field vs. Panthers with right knee injury

Zach Wilson's first career touchdown pass came with a potentially huge cost: Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton was helped off the field and carted off with an apparent knee injury.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, a source said that the team believes Becton has an MCL sprain, and will undergo an MRI to confirm.

Wilson scrambled on a busted play, and connected with a wide open Corey Davis for a 22-yard TD pas - but as Wilson scrambled out of the pocket on that play, Becton was blocking and guard Greg Van Roten was pushed down by Panthers defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon, who then fell right into the back of Becton’s knees:

Becton was listed as doubtful to return with a right knee injury, and the Jets are left to hope for the best for their franchise left tackle. CBS game analyst James Lofton said during the broadcast that he observed Becton getting the Lachman test, which is a test used to measure the integrity of the ACL, but there is no further official word.
