The Jets welcome in the hated Patriots on Sunday, and Gang Green is pulling out all the stop to ensure New England will be walking in to a hostile environment.
Head coach Robert Saleh delivered a message to fans on Friday that fireworks will go off at MetLife Stadium an hour before kickoff to alert tailgaters that it’s time to get into the stadium and be ready to bring the noise from the coin flip to the final whistle.
“That is a sign to you guys to pack it up, get in the stadium, and let's see if we can get this thing loud,” Saleh said. “I heard over 30 percent of the fans missed the Sauce Gardner safety at our last home game. Let’s see if we can get it to where there’s 100 percent viewership if we can make a play.”
Jets defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich made it known earlier this week that the team wasn’t a huge fan of the Patriots running up the scoreboard when the two teams faced off last time last season, so the team will be hungry for payback, and wants a full house there to witness it.
