The outlook for the Jets season, and possibly beyond, could have been drastically altered early in their first preseason game.
Zach Wilson injured his knee on a non-contact play on the second series of Friday’s preseason opener against the Eagles, and limped off the field after trying to outrun a defender.

Head coach Robert Saleh told reporters after the game that Wilson will undergo an MRI on Saturday, and had no further update. But he did add that initial tests indicated that Wilson’s ACL should be “intact.”
“That part is supposed to be intact,” Saleh said. “But again, let's just wait until the MRI.”
Wilson injured the same knee last season when he suffered a PCL sprain. The injury costed him four games, but he came back looking much more composed than his first handful of NFL games, and the Jets were confident that Wilson is poised to take a big step forward in his sophomore season.
Now, they will have to wait to see if Wilson’s second campaign will be delayed, or worse.
