Things have been relatively quiet on the Aaron Rodgers front since the future Hall of Famer revealed that he wants to play for the Jets next season, but ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Thursday that the lack of news on the Rodgers front comes from trade talks stalling between the Jets and Packers.

“The two sides have been stalled in their talks,” Schefter said on NFL Live. “There’s been a standoff with Green Bay wanting more than the Jets are offering. The Jets feel like they’re offering a lot. The Packers feel like they’re not offering enough, and the two sides are left at a stand-still.

“They’ve gone back and forth on this. They haven’t spoken much in the last week, but it certainly sounds like the Packers want a first-round draft pick in that trade, and that’s not all.”

The Jets recently dealt away Elijah Moore to acquire a second-round draft pick, which could be used in a trade for Rodgers, but if Green Bay stands pat on its desire for a first rounder, New York may have to concede it, or hope that waiting things out will make the Packers more eager to get a deal done, especially after making it clear themselves that they are ready to move on with Jordan Love.
