Sauce Gardner forgot about his first career interception by the time Jets win was finished

Sauce Gardner hauled in his first career interception on Sunday afternoon, but it didn’t seem too memorable to him by the time the Jets had finished off a 40-17 thumping of the Dolphins.

In fact, it didn’t seem memorable at all, considering he forgot all about the first-ever pick when he was asked about it after the game.

“I actually forgot I had an interception,” Gardner said when asked about it on the field after the game. “You just reminded me.”

What he did remember was the respect he received from the Dolphins’ star receiver duo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, who where held to 70 combined receiving yards with no touchdowns in what was Gang Green’s first AFC East victory in its last 12 tries.

“They’re so fast, it don’t make no sense,” Gardner said. “But I stayed in there with them…they’re a great group of receivers.”
