You didn’t even need to get all the way through Sunday’s game before realizing that come Monday, when Joe Benigno joined Tiki & Tierney for his first Football Monday appearance, everyone’s favorite bro was going to be in rare form.
Sure enough…whatever the opposite of all the love is, that’s what Joe B. gave in one specific person’s direction: that being Joe Flacco.
“How much longer until Wilson come back, do we have to see this statue Joe Flacco quarterbacking? Can we see Mike White play already?” Joe ranted. “Where the hell is Mike White? Mike White played the best game any Jet quarterback has played in a decade, and he’s got more wins as a starter than Flacco does! Flacco has never won a game as a starter with the Jets!”
Could it be, as Joe surmises…that the Jets are afraid their third-stringer is better than their actual starter?
“He’s got mobility, and they never have him a chance…and I think the only reason this kid isn’t playing, is because they’re afraid he’s better than Wilson,” Joe said. “I really think that. This kid should be playing.”
BT didn’t disagree, only calling it a “heavy indictment,” but when Tiki said “he’s not that good,” Joe got combative once again.
“How do you know that, Teek? You don’t know it, because they never gave him a chance,” Joe argued. “He had a terrific game against Cincinnati, then he has a bad game against Buffalo, one of the best teams in football, and everyone thinks the slipper is off, but then they start him against the Colts and he plays well, gets hurt on a TD pass, and we don’t hear from this kid again.”
Tiki tried to explain his thoughts by explaining White’s pedigree and past (invoking Tom Brady as the exception, not the rule), and that he “hasn’t proven it anywhere.”

“That said, do I still need to see Joe Flacco? They don’t have the you-know-what to do it, because they’re afraid!” Joe exhorted.
Tiki’s reply?
“If you think Mike White is better than Zach Wilson, then Joe Douglas needs to be fired tomorrow,” Tiki said.
Joe then went into Joe Douglas’ first draft and all the nothing it has brought – “that was a John Idzik draft, what a disaster!” he yelled – but regardless of who the QB is next week, all Joe really wants to see is some progress somewhere, because so far, he ain’t seeing it.
“I want a winning season BT, because I’ve had it with this nonsense, but yesterday was the typical crap we’ve come to see with this franchise – mistake after mistake after mistake,” Joe said.
