Joe Benigno was in attendance for the Jets’ improbable win over the Eagles on Sunday, and the win was even sweeter after he interacted with Philly fans that made the trip up the turnpike for the game.
“You talk about obnoxious,” Joe said on his weekly appearance with Evan and Tiki. “Cocky, obnoxious, complaining.
“You guys are 5-1 now, you went to the Super Bowl last year, you won the Super Bowl in 2017. What’s your beef? You’re one of the best teams in football. We got you today.”
The Eagles fans in attendance left in shock after suffering their first loss since last year’s Super Bowl, as Gang Green’s defense picked off Jalen Hurts three times in the comeback victory. For Joe, it was an added bonus to see those fans, and that team, go home disappointed.
“They’re a very cocky team. [Nick] Sirianni is extremely cocky,” Joe said. “I love sticking it to him.
“What an obnoxious group they are.”
