Keith McPherson says he heard way too much faith and belief in Zach Wilson on Tuesday, and isn’t sure how any of that support is warranted.

“The first stage of grief is denial. I heard a lot of people in denial today,” Keith said. “For the last six months, all I heard was ‘Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers,’ and ‘Super Bowl, Super Bowl, Super Bowl.’ What say you now? I’m not saying that to be a troll or twist the knife.

“Now you’re stuck with Zach Wilson. They have to run the ball. They can’t run their full offense.”

Perhaps it was the thrill of one improbable win on Monday night, but Keith says too many fans seem to be forgetting just how bad Wilson has been since being drafted second overall, and sees no way he will be much better this season.

“The fans turned on him last year,” Keith said. “I don’t know what y’all expect to happen this year. Look at their schedule. It’s OK to be real and honest. They’re going to Dallas. You just saw Dallas against the Giants. That defense is hungry. That offensive line doesn’t stand a chance.

“I get you don’t want the season to end. Nobody does. But we have to be honest with ourselves. Zach Wilson is not capable of leading this team to the playoffs with the schedule that they have. They have Dallas, then the Patriots come to town, then the Chiefs. Let’s not get further than Oct. 1. Good think Xavier Gipson walked it off last night, because I don’t know when they’re getting their next win.”
