Keith has long criticized Zach Wilson’s game and ability throughout this season, but even after once again failing to get his team in the end zone on Sunday night, Keith was ready to give Wilson some props.
“Zach Wilson showed up…he balled,” Keith said. “He showed me some things. He showed me some moxie. This kid showed me that he’ll run the ball…he showed me he can do a little no-look pass. He showed me he can make the plays quick and fast.
“Even Nathaniel Hackett showed me he can make this kid not think as much…during the game, I’m thinking to myself, this looks different. Zach Wilson looks like he’s motivated. Up-tempo, quick decisions, quick passes.”
Still, the result was a loss, and Wilson threw a key interception in the fourth quarter to all but seal the loss. While there were some signs of improvement, Keith doesn’t see it saving the outlook of his career.
“Credit is not enough. Progress is not enough,” Keith said. “This is the NFL, which stands for ‘Not For Long.’”
